What is DistilCalc?
DistilCalc is a free suite of precision calculators designed for home distillers and craft spirits producers. Every tool is built to be accurate, fast, and usable without any registration or fees.
Where most free distilling calculators use simplified formulas, DistilCalc applies the same methods used by professional distilleries โ OIML density tables for dilution, the Balling formula for fermentation ABV, ICUMSA polynomials for Brix conversion, and the Terrill correction for refractometer readings.
The Calculators
Who Built This?
DistilCalc was built by a chemistry student and home distiller based in Belgium. The motivation was straightforward โ the free distilling calculators available online were either too simple, inaccurate, or buried in cluttered interfaces. A clean, scientifically accurate alternative was needed.
The site is independently operated with no commercial affiliations to any distilling equipment brand or ingredient supplier. All calculators are and will remain free to use.
Accuracy and Limitations
DistilCalc uses established scientific formulas and official measurement standards. However, all results are estimates. Actual distillation outcomes depend on equipment, temperature, yeast health, and many other variables that cannot be modelled in a calculator.
For legally regulated purposes such as commercial spirit production, excise duty calculations, or medical applications, always use certified laboratory analysis and consult qualified professionals.
Always distil responsibly and in compliance with the laws of your country. Home distillation is legal in some jurisdictions and illegal in others. It is your responsibility to know and comply with local regulations.
